1. What does GynaeCheck Test for?
GynaeCheck tests for the 12 types of HPV that are considered high risk. The test also then provides sub-typing on strains 16, 18, and 45. This provides information as to whether the woman may wish to consider vaccination, based on her particular circumstances.

The test is very reliable and has FDA approval.

2. What is the evidence for primary HPV Testing?
There is now a large body of evidence, in both the UK and USA that suggests the use of HPV primary testing. The UK is currently undergoing very large testing in the so called Sentinel Sites, who were responsible for HPV Triage and Test of Cure that was introduced into the NHS in 2012.

3. What should I do with a woman who presents to me with a positive test?
We have an easy to follow suggested protocol for women with positive results. This, as always, involves her history, examination, and cross-reference to her smear test that may need to be taken if not available. Links to the protocol are available on her results letter and on our website.

We have a number of preferred Gynaecologists who can give an expert opinion and associated company providers. This gives patients access to world-class surroundings and facilities.
